How to make it

  • Wash the jalapenos, cut into 1/2 inch rings, set aside. (WEAR GLOVES!!)
  • Slice onions into thin slices, set aside.
  • Pack peppers and onions into hot, sterilized jars.
  • Place the rest of the ingredients into a large saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Fill jars with hot liquid and seal with sterile lids.
  • Process 10 minutes in a hot water bath canner.
  • Store for at least a week before opening. Refrigerate after opening.

    I would like to know if I could replace the sugar in the original recipe , with organic stevia extract ?

    I want to get into canning so bad. I have enough fridge space just not enough time for anything b/c the little one is SO NEEDY!!!! When I do get the time I want to try this out! I hate the store bought pickled jalapenos...they are so gross! I bet these are so much better!!

    Looks and sounds great. I want to get into jarring my own things, too, and this would be a perfect start for me. What is a 'hot water bath canner?' Is it a piece of equipment or something?
