How to make it

  • Boil all ingredients until a small amount dropped in cold water becomes brittle.
  • Pou into a shallow, buttered tin.
  • When it hardens, break into pieces.

    I grew up in Massachusetts, and the nuns at my grade school made this every fall for candy apples, and then the excess was broken int pieces and wrapped in wax paper. I couldn't wait for taffy apple time and the candy leftovers!

    Poured some of this over a handful of chopped almonds and it was great. I bet macadamia nuts would be even better.
