Balsamic Glazed Beef With Cream Cheese Polenta

- 1 lb flat iron steak, cut in bite-sized pieces shopping list

- 3 tablespoons water shopping list
- 2 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon tarragon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper shopping list
- 1 dash salt shopping list
- Polenta: shopping list

- 2 cups water shopping list

- 1/2 cup medium-grain yellow polenta (I use yellow corn meal) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup cream cheese shopping list
- chopped green onion for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all marinade ingredients. Marinate steak overnight.
- Heat water lightly seasoned with salt to a boil, quickly whisk in the polenta until fully incorporated.
- Lower the heat to a low simmer, add the butter and allow the polenta to cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.
- Finish by stirring in the cream cheese and salt to taste.
- Fry beef (with marinade) until done - the meat should be a rich brown color and the marinade reduced to a glaze.
- Serve over polenta and garnish with green onions.
