How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 300 Degrees.
  • Mix together the cubed beef, onion, consomme, red wine and salt and pepper in a bowl.
  • Stir in the bread crumbs.
  • Transfer to a casserole dish, cover.
  • Bake at 300 degrees for 3 hours...**also can be done in a Crockpot for 5 hours on low**
  • Serves 4 - 6...and can always be doubled.
  • Great Sunday supper fare with Mashed Potatoes, Garlic Bread, Salad and Fresh Veggies...Enjoy!

    I at times add Italian Flavored Bread Crumbs instead of Plain...2 Tablespoons of Thyme would be too much for this dish and over power it...perhaps a pinch to taste.
