How to make it

  • Put 1 sliced onion on bottom of crockpot,add pork,put other sliced onion on top of pork,add ginger ale ,cover and cook on low for 12 hours(I start at 11PM or midnight) Remove meat,strain and save onions,discard liquid.
  • Return pork to pot,shred with 2 forks,add onions back to pot. Stir in BBQ sauce and continue to cook 2 hours on low.

    I love the idea of using ginger ale (my favorite soft drink) as an ingredient in a simmered recipe. I just wish I had a way to cook this. Crock pots are not common here in Germany and the ones that are available are always the large ones. Still, I love the flavors and simplicity of this, Pat.
