How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 300F
  • Boil 1 cup of the syrup until it makes ¾ cup, let cool slightly.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff.
  • Add the sugar and baking powder, carefully blend in the reduced syrup.
  • Divide the remaining ½ cup syrup amongst 6 ramekins, divide and add cognac and butter to each.
  • Slowly pour in the egg mixture.
  • Place ramekins in a pan containing a water bath.
  • Bake 50 minutes, serve hot.

    i wonder if this could be made with splenda as im a diabetic and splenda measures cup for cup with sugar.sounds wonderful like it is though. JO
