Chicken In Beer Batter Recipe
The batter made with this recipe is useful for battering fish, fruit or anything that requires a batter. It is quick and convenient, This recipe is for 1 but can be added to, to make more quite easily.

Ingredients
  • THE BATTER
  • 110g (4oz) plain flour
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of Cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 150ml (5fl oz) beer
  • 1 egg white, stiffly whipped
  • THE CHICKEN
  • 1 chicken breast, cut into strips
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Oil for frying

Directions
  1. Sieve the flour, salt and cayenne pepper into a bowl.
  2. Add the oil and beer and whisk thoroughly.
  3. Fold in the whipped egg white.
  4. Dip the chicken strips in the flour, and the batter.
  5. Deep fry in the oil for approximately 1 minute, until crispy.
  6. Remove and season with salt and pepper
  7. Good served with a sweet chili sauce and a crispy salad.

Thank you for this post! It was really crispy, but had to cook for 8 minutes. Used Cajun seasoning. Will try with fish next time!
