Ingredients

How to make it

  • Start your bacon cooking and flipping until brown and crispy. Set the pan aside and don't pour out the grease. Heat up a second pan, about medium, and add the 1 Tbs of butter.
  • As that's heating up add a piece of cheese 2 slices of bread, then the cooked bacon and cover with the other 2 slices. Cook in butter then when flipping add the other 1 Tbs butter.
  • Add the bacon pan back to the burner and cook the eggs sunny side up, use a spoon to scoop bacon grease on top of the egg to make sure the white cooks, S&P as you like. Add inside of the sandwich. SO GOOD!!!

Sunday breakfast! I hadn't had an egg cooked in bacon grease since I was a kid. I used cheddar cheese and sheepherders bread. Thanks for posting this great idea! Added my picture, too. 3/17/13 and a thread in IMI

That's just how my mom used to make eggs - by scooping bacon grease on top of them. This looks good to me!
