How to make it

  • Soak Beans over night in 6 - 8 cups water
  • Boil 2 mins -Strain & Reserve 6 cups liquid
  • Mix all ingredients with the water, except the bacon and onions
  • In the dutch oven, layer: bacon/beans/onion/bacon/beans
  • Pour the sauce over the beans. The liquid should just about cover them
  • Preheat oven to 300
  • While the oven is heating, being the beans to a boil on the stove top
  • Cover & bake in the oven for 6-8 hours, depending on how tender you like them
