Nutty For Valentines Squares

A decadent bar-cookie style of dessert with Nutella and cherries. Excellent way to introduce (or indulge!) yourself with the miracle that is Nutella!
Ingredients
- ¼ c butter shopping list
- ¼ c nutella (chocolate-hazelnut spread) shopping list
- 1 c + 2 tbsp whole-wheat flour shopping list
- Pinch salt shopping list
- 1 c brown sugar shopping list
- ¼ c corn syrup shopping list
- 2 ½ tbsp whole-wheat flour shopping list
- ½ tsp baking powder shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla or cherry extract shopping list
- 2/3 c sliced, pitted cherries shopping list
- ¼ c chopped hazelnuts shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Combine butter, Nutella, flour and salt.
- Spread into the bottom of a 9” pan.
- Bake 10 minutes and let cool.
- Combine remaining ingredients in order given, folding in cherries and hazelnuts last.
- Bake 30 minutes and cool completely.
