How to make it

  • Shell:
  • In a saucepan, bring to a boil water and butter.
  • Blend in flour.
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time, by hand or with a mixer.
  • Grease and lightly flour a 9x13-inch pan.
  • Pour mixture in pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Poke holes in the cake with the end of a wooden spoon.
  • Let cool.
  • Topping:
  • Cream together the cream cheese with 1/2 cup milk.
  • Add the pudding and 1 1/2 cups milk.
  • Beat with a mixer or by hand.
  • Pour mixture on top of the shell.
  • Top with Cool Whip and swirl on chocolate syrup.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour to set before serving.

    Can you get it creamy enough to have it flow in the holes? I have a receipe for a cake called yum yum that has cream cheese and you spread it on top. Nancy

    For all of you who have viewed and passed on this you are missing out! Fabulous, I've been making it for years. I don't poke holes in the cake - I leave it lumpy - but that works for us. You really should give this a try.
