Ingredients
  • Nonstick vegetable oil spray
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • Pinch of Cream of Tarter
  • 3/4 cup pecan halves (about 3 oz.)

Directions
  1. Line baking sheet with foil; spray with nonstick spray, and set aside. Combine sugar, 2 tablespoons water, and cream of tarter in heavy small-sized saucepan. Stir over medium-low heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat; boil without stirring until syrup is deep amber color, occasionally brushing down sides of pan with pastry brush dipped in water and swirling pan, about 7 minutes. Remove from heat. Immediately stir in pecans. Quickly pour mixture out onto prepared baking sheet. Working quickly and using 2 forks, separate pecans into individual halves. Cool completely. Break candied pecans apart, leaving each pecan half intact with some candied caramel attached. (Can be made 1 week ahead. Store airtight at room temperature)

I'll have to make this recipe and soon! Thanks for posting it! This will really come in handy during the holiday season!

My mom makes this but adds red and/or green food coloring to seperate batches respectively, to make it festive for the Holidays.

A co-worker brings these to work at Christmas every year and they are wonderful!

Love candied pecans on a green salad with a citrus dressing (served at the Claim Jumper restaurants).

I love that these are simple and delicious. The only bad thing about these is that it's impossible to stop eating once you start! Thanks for posting it! 5 Take Care, Lisa

Debbie~ these sound like they would be perfect for a three O'clock snack.
