Family recipe for No Bake Cookies. By far my favorite version. Gave these away as gifts last year. Had requests for the recipe afterwards. Everyone loved them!

I also grew up with these cookies. I wanted to make some for my kids specially my baby who is a really picky eater so needs a little help with fattening stuff to help her gain wait. I wanted them alittle healthier at the same time. So here is what I did. I did not have cocoa but had some simi sweet gordita chocolates.
1/2 bag simi sweet chocolates ( I used Gordita)
1 cup sugar ( I just forgot the other cup but it was sweet enough)
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup butter.
After melting everything together and letting it get hot but not boiling so it didn't burn the chocolate I added the half cup crunchy peanut butter. after that desolved I added
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup dry milk
1/2 cup coconut
and about 2 1/4 cups oatmeal. The kids loved them.

I love these things.... have been adding other stuff from the pantry (left over from the holidays). Dried fruits, coconut flakes, and chopped nuts of course!!! The textures are fun.

Wow!! Finally, a chocolate to peanut butter ratio that I really like! I split my first batch in half and used the first part for standard drop-cookies, and with the second half, I waited a little longer so I could easily roll them into balls and pressed caramel kisses into the centers (total chocolate overdose!!!)
