Can I know what id the coconut use here? Is it grated coconut?

Hey Dugger...nothing like the one I had of Grandmother's. Her's had sour cream. . I can work with this one though. I will at a later date post the one I'll work out.
wokkingmum7...let her know it's flaked coconut.
And yes I owe you my zucchini casserole recipe now. You'll get it I promise. Life is fast rolling right now.

Thank Doug and helewes for the reply! I can try this cos I can get all the ingredients here (in Singapore) :)

Elaine,

You are a wonder.. that is a good thing. The fact that you would even try Amercan cooking is wonderful. Sorry about the Singapore Wings. No insult intended. Just was the recipe name I received.

Doug,
This is one of my favorite recipes to take to a gathering. I'd always had it with sour cream but when I started making myself I used yogurt. Coconut is a good one with this but other flavors or plain will do.

Yes, we have always made it with sour cream, but I bet it's good with the whipped cream.

This is the closest recipe I have found to what I am looking for, a local family buffet restaurant serves a wonderful Ambrosia...thanks for posting!

Hi There Dugger....I am going to make your recipe for Thanksgiving this year, but I will add cherries and maybe some bananas. Thanks for sharing and I will leave a comment after Thanksgiving.

Hi There Dugger....Happy New Years to you and yours...As promised I am posting a comment on this salad. I made it and it was delicious. I only added a 1/2 cup to 1 cup of drained, dried, marchinos cherries, toasted the coconut. I didn't add the bananas or the vanilla extract. I love this and nearly ate the whole dish myself lol, tyvm for sharing. By the way I was looking at your pics of food and I have the very same deviled egg dish. I love mine. Do you have any info on it?I get quite alot of compliments on it and I got my from a second hand store or garage sale can't really remember where, lol. Ok am off to look at some more of your recipes the stuffed ham is interesting never heard of that.
Take Care....Sherry

I have made this using "a little" sour cream instead of "a little" whipped cream. I have also added drained and chopped maraschino cherries.
