Italian Meatball and Sausage Party Platter

This seems so simple, but I never thought to do this as an appetizer until I stumbled across the idea in an old magazine.

In bowl, combine egg, bacon, breadcrumbs, onion, basil, sour cream, pepper, salt and ground beef.
Form into meatballs (on the small side) and arrange on rimmed baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees until browned and cooked through.
Meanwhile, cook Italian sausage links, keeping sweet and hot links separate.
Slice links into 1 inch thick slices.
Heat marinara sauce.
Arrange meatballs and sausage link slices in large serving platter.
Spoon marinara sauce into bowl in center of meats.
Serve with toothpicks.

I'm going to add this recipe to my catering collection . Garlic/parmesan toasted croutes or garlic bread sticks would be great with this.
