Turtle Fudge Bars

- Crust: shopping list
- 1 pkg. graham crackers (approximately 10 crackers) shopping list
- 1 C. walnuts or pecans shopping list
- 1/2 C. butter or margarine, melted shopping list
- Fudge: shopping list
- 2 1/2 C. sugar shopping list
- 1/4 C. butter or margarine shopping list
- 1 small can sweetened condensed milk shopping list
- 1 jar marshmallow fluff shopping list
- 3/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 3/4 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips shopping list
- Topping: shopping list
- caramel flavored icecream topping shopping list
- handful of walnuts or pecans shopping list
How to make it
- Crust:
- Using a food processor, chop walnuts and graham crackers until they are finely chopped. Pour into a medium sized cake pan. Add butter, and mix thouroughly. Press into bottom of pan. Cool completely. (for faster cooling, refrigerate)
- Fudge:
- Combine sugar, butter, condensed milk, marshmallow fluff and salt in medium sized pan. Stir over low heat until blended.
- Bring to a boil over moderate heat, eing careful not to mistake air bubbles for boiling. Then boil slowly, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. (to softball stage)
- Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips and vanilla, until chocolate is melted.
- Remove cake pan from refrigerator, and pour fudge into cake pan, spreading over crust.
- Cool completely, until fudge is set.
- Topping:
- When fudge layer is set and cooled, spread caramel topping over top of fudge.
- Sprinkle desired amount of walnut pieces over caramel topping and serve.
