How to make it

  • Cook almonds and 2 tbsp of sugar in a heavy pan until sugar is melted. Poor onto aluminum foil to cool and harden. Break into pea sized chunks.
  • Toss together lettuce, celery, green onions and mandarin oranges.
  • Dressing: Combine vinegar, remaining sugar, parsley and oil in a jar or cruet.
  • When ready to serve, add almond chunks and dressing.

    They aren't. I'm not sure where the name originated. It was a recipe from a friend of a friend of a...etc. The name just stuck. Maybe I should come up with a new title but then no one in my family would know what I am talking about.

    sounds great! but i am not sure if almonds, celery and parsley are typical ingredients of a korean dish. (especially 30 years ago) so i am a bit confused...

    Sounds yummy to me, for some reason I just love salads with fruit and nuts in them.
