You can use any bread as the base - I didn't have a lot of any one kind, so used a mixture of French, whole grain, a tea biscuit, and white. It was delicious.

It sounds so good. What an easy way to make french toast for the whole family without spending all that time standing at the stove. Thanks.

We had it this morning - awesome. My daughter, who's not big on sweets or eggs, just had it as it was, and she gave it a two thumbs up.

Served this at our New Years Day brunch, and everyone loved it!!! Was a BIG hit!! I used french bread, because I didn't look at the type of bread on the recipe before I went to the store, but it worked fine. Thanks for sharing!
