Special K Bar Cookies

This is a twist onRice Krispie Treats-- only you use Special K cereral..very similar to using Rice Krispies and if you prefer you can use Rice Krispies instead of the Special K --, quick and easy to prepare - A tastey, gooey delight!
Ingredients
- Special K Bar cookies shopping list
- 1 1/2 C. sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 C. peanut butter (Creamy or Crunchy) shopping list
- 1 1/2 C. white corn syrup shopping list
- 1 t. maple flavoring shopping list
- 1 Box Special K cereal (the Large size) shopping list
- Topping: shopping list
- 1 1/2 C. butterscotch chips shopping list
- 1 1/2 C. chocolate chips shopping list
- Add maple flavoring to taste -- as well as vanilla flavoring shopping list
- Mix above together and bring to a boil in pan allowing to boil for a couple minutes- stirring occassionally. Gradually add Special shopping list
How to make it
- Bring sugar, peanut butter, corn syrup and maple flavoring to boil-- boil a couple minutes. Gradually add the cereal to the melted mixture.
- Spread out in a 9X13 pan.
- Prepare topping. Melt butterscotch chips, chocloate chips and flavorings together and spread over the cereal mixture in pan. Let cool, cut and serve.
- You can vary ingredients in order to create a very gooey bar cookie and if you prefer-- you may refridgererate the cookies.
- Super easy recipe, kids love them!

Aren't these the best? Has to be a Mid-western treat! My husband makes these all the time, I know I could, but he does it so much better. They just taste better when someone else does them.
