Ingredients
  • 900g spare ribs of choice
  • Marinade:
  • 2 Tbsp dry sherry or rice wine
  • 2 Tbsp light soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp rice wine vinegar or cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp tomato puree
  • Sauce:
  • 4 cloves garlic,crushed
  • 2 Tbsp five spice powder
  • 4 spring onions,finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp light soy sauce
  • finely grated zest and juice of 1 orange
  • 125ml rice vinegar

Directions
  1. In a bowl mix the marinade ingreds together and toss in the spare ribs...leave to marinade for 4-6 hours...
  2. heat grill and cook spare ribs for 4 minutes on each side...
  3. put all ingreds for sauce in heated wok or pan...add the grilled spare ribs, cover and simmer slowly for 15mins...remove lid and continue to simmer for a further 15-20 mins until the sauce becomes syrupy...add a little water if nessasary.....sprinkle over orange zest..
