Five Spice Spare Ribs

- 900g spare ribs of choice shopping list
- Marinade: shopping list
- 2 Tbsp dry sherry or rice wine shopping list
- 2 Tbsp light soy sauce shopping list
- 2 Tbsp rice wine vinegar or cider vinegar shopping list
- 1 tsp sesame oil1 Tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp tomato puree shopping list
- Sauce: shopping list
- 4 cloves garlic,crushed shopping list
- 2 Tbsp five spice powder shopping list
- 4 spring onions,finely chopped shopping list
- 2 Tbsp sugar shopping list
- 2 Tbsp light soy sauce shopping list
- finely grated zest and juice of 1 orange shopping list
- 125ml rice vinegar shopping list
How to make it
- In a bowl mix the marinade ingreds together and toss in the spare ribs...leave to marinade for 4-6 hours...
- heat grill and cook spare ribs for 4 minutes on each side...
- put all ingreds for sauce in heated wok or pan...add the grilled spare ribs, cover and simmer slowly for 15mins...remove lid and continue to simmer for a further 15-20 mins until the sauce becomes syrupy...add a little water if nessasary.....sprinkle over orange zest..
