Ingredients

How to make it

  • cut acorn in half and deseed
  • place in a cassarole dish
  • add enough water to bottom so squash wont burn ( 1 cup )
  • place pats of butter in center of both sqaush
  • put brown sugar on top of butter
  • nuke for about 20 minutes covered until nice and tender
  • scoop out ..or just eat it out of the skin.
  • this is great anytime.
  • enjoy

    You are so right these have a ton of wonderful flavors. I make mine nearly the same as you do except I add some cinnamon to the mix too. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

    These are great to serve over the holidays. For something different,I also use Maple Syrup instead of Brown Sugar for a alternative. :)

    Honey, just like my momma used to make. Love it, sometimes she would sprinkle a touch of salt and a bit of cinnamon. This is perfect side dish for so many things. I think I like ham the best, but turkey is good too. Thanks for the reminder of something my family loves. I need to remember to make it. Toodles, Notcho

    Slice a flat spot on the bottom of the squash, if needed, to make it set square-up in the dish.
