USS James K Polk Ships Fried Rice

- 1 cup converted rice shopping list
- 1 large or 2 med. eggs shopping list
- 4 strips of bacon shopping list
- 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. med. shrimp, cooked ,cleaned or thin strips of chicken shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder shopping list
- 1/8 tsp. pepper shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup minced onion shopping list
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce shopping list
How to make it
- Cook rice according to package directions; drain it.
- Fluff with slotted spoon.
- Spread on baking sheet
- Put into 350 F oven for 20 min.
- Cool
- Make thin omelet from the eggs.
- Cool & cut into thin strips.
- Fry bacon;cut into pieces
- Reserve 2 Tbsp. of drippings
- To the drippings, add split shrimp or chicken & condiments. Sautee and stir 5 min. over med.-high heat.
- Add onions.
- Sautee 5 min. more.
- Add cooled rice, egg strips, bacon and soy sauce.
- Cook and stir over med. heat 10 min. more
- Should serve 6 as main dish. Ship made gallons more so this was harder to down-size.

I've had this before at a soldier friend's house, but he wasn't on the Polk, he was given it by another soldier but can't trace it from there. Still, very delicious!
