Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a large deep skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Add onion, cabbage, apples, salt and pepper and sautee for about10 minutes until crisp-tender.
  • Add milk and cheese and combine well. You maybe tempted to add more milk, BUT, there will be more moisture after it has baked.
  • Pour into at least a 2 quart casserole dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake additional 10-15 minutes.

I finally made this--for dinner tonight. I thought it was lovely. The flavors really blend well. Served it with brown basmati rice, which went perfectly with the richness of the casserole. I'll be making this recipe again. Thanks.

How could anyone give this recipe a 2-fork rating!! It sounds wonderful and fairly healthy (low fat dairy products are always an option). There's no accounting for some peoples tastes.

LOL that does sound very dood, I'm bookmarking this, great post. I actually have all the ingredients to make this on hand, so maybe I'll do a pork roast or chops and fix this over the weekend.
