How to make it

  • In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  • Beat in egg and milk
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  • Mix well.
  • Stir into creamed mixture.
  • Batter will be stiff.
  • Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups 2/3 full.
  • Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes or until cake test is done.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter.
  • In a bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
  • Remove muffins from oven and muffin tin.
  • Immediately dip tops into butter and then cinnamon sugar.
  • Serve warm.

    Great idea to dip the muffins in the butter & cinnamon & sugar after they bake. I have problems with the topping burning when it's put on before you bake them. This trick would solve that problem! Thank you for sharing it.
