Rolled Oats Cake

- 1 cup oats shopping list
- 1-1/4 cup boiling water shopping list
- 1/2 cup shortening shopping list
- 1 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 cup light brown sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspon nutmeg shopping list
- Topping: shopping list
- 5 tablespoons oleo shopping list
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup coconut shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans shopping list
How to make it
- Mix oats and boiling water then allow to stand 20 minutes.
- Cream together shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
- Combine cooled oat mixture, flour, soda, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg together.
- Combine with shortening mixture.
- Pour into greased rectangular cake pan.
- Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
- Boil oleo, brown sugar and milk for 7 minutes.
- Stir in coconut and pecans and pour over warm cake.
