Easy aromatic chicken or turkey and faux dumplings from leftovers

- 2-1/2 to 3 cups leftover cooked chicken or turkey cubed into bite size chunks (no skin sorry gang) shopping list
- 2 cups frozen or fresh veggies (i use mixed green beans, corn and carrots) shopping list
- 2 - 3 cups leftover stuffing (the more aromatic the better) shopping list
- 1 tube Pillsbury grands biscuits or 2 tubes any store brand smaller biscuits (flaky work good here too) You want to pretty much cover the top shopping list
- 1 can condensed cream or mushroom or cream of chicken soup shopping list
- 1 14 oz. can chicken broth shopping list
- 1 heaping tablespoon corn starch and 4 oz water mixed (this is called a slurry) shopping list
- 1/2 lb ziti shopping list
- 2 tbl butter or margarine shopping list
- 1 large or 2 medium onions shopping list
- 1 garlic clove diced (or 1 tsp granulated garlic) shopping list
- 1 tbl cracked black pepper shopping list
- kosher salt to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
- Boil ziti not al dente but soft, drain all water and set aside, cover to keep warm if necessary
- In the meantime while the ziti is cooking melt butter in large saucepan add onions and garlic cook til translucent
- add soup and chicken broth and chicken (or turkey) and bring to a boil
- Lower heat to medium
- add leftover stuffing (if none flavored croutons sage, rosemary thyme flavored etc will work)
- add veggies
- let all heat through and don't worry about the stuffing getting soggy it will, it's the flavor and thick texture you want, and pour in corn starch water slurry and bring to a full boil again and let thicken
- add ziti
- add pepper
- salt to taste
- Pour all in a 9X12 baking dish
- Place biscuits on top of mixture and bake at 350 degrees til biscuits are golden brown and done inside approx 18 - 20 minutes
- let sit 5 minutes
- serve
