Must Have Maple Pumpkin Dessert

- 1- 18-1/2 ounce white cake mix shopping list
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 3/4 cup canned pumpkin shopping list
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar shopping list
- 1-1/3 cups white or vanilla chips shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 1 cup butter-flavored Crisco® shortening shopping list
- 2 pounds confectioners' sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons maple flavoring shopping list
How to make it
- Grease 3 9-inch round baking pans.
- Line with waxed paper.
- Grease the paper and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, 1/2 cup flour and cinnamon.
- Add water, pumpkin, oil, and eggs.
- Beat well.
- Transfer 1/3 of the batter to a small mixing bowl.
- Beat in brown sugar and remaining flour.
- Stir in chips and pecans.
- Pour into 1 prepared pan.
- Divide the plain batter between the 2 remaining pans.
- Bake the 3 cakes at 350° for 20-30 minutes until cake test comes out done.
- Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans and placing onto wire racks to cool completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, cram shortening and confectioners' sugar.
- Beat in the milk, vanilla and maple flavoring.
- Place one plain cake on a serving platter.
- Spread with frosting.
- Top with the pumpkin-nut cake.
- Frost.
- Top with remaining cake.
- Spread remaining frosting over top and sides of cake.
- Serve.
