Mama Ks Baked Crab Cakes W Mustard Sauce

- crab CAKES: shopping list
- 16 oz crab meat - fresh cooked or canned/drained shopping list
- 2 tbsp favorite mayonnaise or mayo substitute shopping list
- 2 large eggs or the equivalent in egg sub. shopping list
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 sweet red bell pepper, diced shopping list
- 2 scallions, chopped shopping list
- 1 celery stalk, diced shopping list
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped shopping list
- 1.5 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning shopping list
- bread crumbs to coat shopping list
- mustard SAUCE: shopping list
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise (feel free to substitute light mayo or any mayo substitute) shopping list
- juice of one lemon shopping list
- 2 tbsp brown mustard shopping list
- 1/2 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning shopping list
- Dash (or 6) of your favorite hot pepper sauce (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- CRAB CAKES:
- Preheat oven to 450.
- Mix together first 10 ingredients - gently! You don't want to break the lumps of crab..
- Make 10 patties, each about the size of a woman's palm.
- Coat patties in breadcrumbs.
- Place patties on baking sheet or hot stone; mist top side with olive oil or cooking spray.
- Cook at 450 for 10-15 minutes.
- Turn patties over; mist with olive oil or cooking spray.
- Cook at 450 for another 10-15 minutes.
- Remove from oven, and let cool 5-10 minutes.
- Serve with spinach salad with mustard sauce.
- MUSTARD SAUCE:
- Blend all ingredients together until smooth; chill for at least 30 minutes. Serve with crab cakes or over salad.
