Slow Cooker Chicken And Dumplings Recipe

How to make it

  • Place the chicken, butter, soup, onion, potatoes, and carrots in a slow cooker and fill with enough water to cover. (I have also started to use chicken broth instead of water here.)
  • Cover and cook on high for 5 to 6 hours.
  • About 45 minutes before serving, place the torn biscuit dough in the slow cooker. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.

    I started searching for any means possible to bring back my relationship with the woman I love and want to be with everyday in life.     I was in a hurry and had all the ingredients so I thought I would try! Its not healthy or like real old fashioned chicken and dumplings- but i have to say its pretty delicious!! My family ate it all and asked me to make it again. I didn't use any water and it was fine. I think I will add some seasoning and more veggies next time! Glad I finally tried it!!

    Grew up on tube biscuit dumplings. Quick, easy solution for cooks with limited time. This recipe was okay but felt a crock pot was not the way to fluff these up as they should have been.

    I used the already cooked rotisserie chicken and used cubbed red potatoes, green beans, already diced onions an pre packaged baby carrots. I used water instead of chicken broth. There is plenty of flavoring/salt in the chicken that will do fine. Can't wait to try it!

    Easy to make and Delicious! I added 3 bay leaves, salt and pepper. I added the chix still frozen then shredded it later in the day before adding biscuits. Everybody loved it!

    Its in the crock pot now!! The smell is driving everyone nuts!! I did go ahead and add the green beans, corn, and peas, as Vidaliasmom recommended and used the broth instead of water. Thanks for the recipe, cant wait to to taste!! Will rate after we dig in!!
