These are so easy and they look and taste like you put alot of effort into it. I packaged them up and gave them as x-mas presents for co-workers last year.

Ingredients
  • 14 oz. coconut
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

Directions
  1. Mix coconut, sugar, flour and salt.
  2. Stir in egg whites and almond extract.
  3. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased & floured cookie sheet.
  4. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 min.
  5. Remove from cookie sheets and allow to cool completely on wire racks.
  6. Drizzle with melted chocolate.
  7. Refrigerate on wax paper-lined tray for at least 45 min.
  8. Makes 3 dozen

I love macaroons. I make them with honey, and that's about the only difference. But I've never added chocolate.. This will be interesting .
