Granny Smith Cake Goes Nuts With Hot Topping

- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups vegetable oil shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 3 cups plain flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract shopping list
- 3 cups granny smith apples, peeled and diced shopping list
- 1 cup chopped walnuts shopping list
- TOPPING shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup milk shopping list
- 1 stick unsalted butter shopping list
How to make it
- In large mixer bowl, beat eggs vegetable oil and sugar well
- In another bowl, sift flour, salt, soda, and cinnamon together
- Add to creamed mixture, mix well on low speed
- Add vanilla, apples, walnuts
- Pour into greased 9 inch tube pan (I prefer tube pan with this)
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour
- Remove from oven and pour HOT topping over HOT cake
- TOPPING:
- Combine all ingredients in saucepan and cook for about 3 minutes, until mixture begins to boil, then pour over hot cake
- LET CAKE COMPLETELY COOL BEFORE REMOVING FROM PAN
