Whole Wheat Beer Bread

- 1½ cups AP flour shopping list
- 1½ cups whole wheat flour shopping list
- 4½ teasp baking powder shopping list
- 1½ teasp salt shopping list
- ⅓ cup brown sugar, packed shopping list
- 12 oz beer, the darker the better shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat Oven to 350.
- Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt and brown sugar. Pour in beer, stir until a stiff batter is formed. It may be necessary to mix dough with your hands. Scrape dough into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
- If you like an extra yummy crust, about 15 minutes from end of baking time, melt 1/4 cup butter and pour over loaf and but back in oven. This makes the crust extra crispy and tasty.
