Apple Cornbread Recipe

How to make it

  • Mix together in top of double boiler the cornmeal, sugar, salt, milk and margarine.
  • Set over hot water and cook for 10 minutes. Cool.
  • Add eggs, soda (dissolved in water), and apples.
  • Pour into greased baking dish and bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Makes 1 Loaf

    OH boy just went to the apple butter festival in a nearby small town and yeppers bought a couple jars of some terrific apple butter made by one of the local churches over an open flame in huge copper kettles this sounds so good will be trying it this next week for sure
