Justin Wilsons Barbecue Sauce
From notyourmomma 16 years agoIngredients
- 3 cups onions, chopped shopping list
- 1/4 cup honey shopping list
- 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped shopping list
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice shopping list
- 1 cup sweet pepper, chopped shopping list
- 1 tablespoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup parsley, dried shopping list
- 3 tablespoons Lea and Perrins shopping list
- 1 cup dry white wine shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon mint, dried shopping list
- 3 tablespoons vinegar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke shopping list
- 2 cups ketchup shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon louisiana hot sauce shopping list
How to make it
- Place all ingredients in a pot that is big enough to hold them. Bring to a boil. Cook, covered, on low heat for several hours. From Justin Wilson's "Outside Cooking with Inside Help"
- The recipe above is just as Justin wrote it, I tweaked mine to add bit more hot sauce (easily doubled) and reduce the liquid smoke by a third. And I certain a little more mint makes it in the pot, too. I do that measure in your palm and I'm not exactly accurate.
- I miss Justin Wilson!
