Beets With Maple Syrup Recipe

This is a fabulous recipe that I obtained from an estate sale a few years ago. It is very impressive on the platter and the taste is unbelievable. My family and friends beg for this delight

Ingredients
- 8 beets washed
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
Directions
- Bake beets in 350 oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven and peel and slice.
- Put beets, butter, maple syrup and seasonings in a baking dish.
- Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.

This recipe is heaven!!!I am not sure why but have not had beets in years.My cousin in Me. gave me huge beets out of his garden last weekend.Not only did I enjoy my nephews fab wedding but now have a recipe to add to my family.

Can I use-dare I say-canned beats? I just find fresh ones to be difficult and messy to work with. Maybe it's just me?
