Love cooking brisket, using rubs, fancy-smancy, BUT for a delicious brisket,stress-free,forget-about-it on-to-other-things, this is the ticket. Great served w/flour tortillas, salsa.

Ingredients
  • 1 (5-51/2 pound) beef brisket
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
  • Optional: lots of coarsely ground pepper
  • This is so easy for a party...hassle free, and you can depend on a delicious tasting brisket!

Directions
  1. Place brisket in large piece of heavy-duty aluminum floil
  2. Sprinkle both sides evenly with soup mix
  3. Tightly fold foil to seal
  4. Place brisket in a large roasting pan
  5. Bake at 350 (maybe 325) degrees for about 5 hours
  6. Remove brisket from foil, reserving pan drippings
  7. Spoon strained pan drippings over brisket; cut diagonally across the grain into thin slices
  8. Serve with flour tortillas, salsa
  9. NOTE: This is great for a simple party, served with good purchased Tamales, Mexican Rice with Cilantro, Fresh Salsa, Sour Cream, Mexican Cornbread. And don't forget the dessert... Chocolate Cake with Praline Icing!

Me too! good post!

Now where is the dessert recipe LOL You mentioned it but I didn't see that one, must post it too.

Sounds really good and so simple! :p cool

I tried this recipe last week. I am not a good cook at ALL! That is why I'm here. Anyway I cooked the brisket just as directed. It was sooooooooooo moist and tender! I usually end up throwing away half my brisket. Last week, we ate it all! There was nothing left! Thank You!

THAT'S THE WAY ALL RECIPES SHOULD BE SHORT AND SWEET.

I'd love to try this, it's simplicity itself.
Love sitbynellie
