THIS IS NOT THE PIE CRUST I ALWAYS USE. MY AUNT HAD GIVEN ME THIS RECIPE. IT IS GOOD AND FLAKEY AND SO EASY TO MAKE. WHEN I STARTED DOING PIES THIS WAS MY FIRST ONE.

Ingredients
  • 1 CUP SHORTENING
  • 3 CUPS FLOUR
  • 1 TEASPOON SALT
  • 1 EGG YOLK
  • 1/2 CUP MILK

Directions
  1. PLACE DRY IN BOWL
  2. CUT IN SHORTENING, WITH A PASTRY CUTTER, I USE A FORK, OR YOU CAN USE 2 KNIVES
  3. MIX EGG AND MILK TOGETHER
  4. POUR OVER DRY MIX
  5. MIX UNTIL IT GATHERS UP
  6. MAKES TWO DOUBLE CRUST 9" PIE PLUS 1 SHELL
  7. OR FIVE 9" SINGLE [PIE SHELLS, I never get that much out of it. I like my shells little thicker so who knows?)
