I went to a Southern Living party, and got this free sample recipe. In their words, "these ultrachocolate cookies are, hands down, some of the best ever to come through our test kitchen."

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2⁄3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2⁄3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1⁄4 tsp. salt

  • 3 (1.75-oz.) Mounds bars, chilled and chopped

Now that's a lotsa chocolate!

That's a cookie I could obsess over! Thanks for sharing - I can't wait to get these whipped up. I'll let you know how they came out, but I can't imagine them being anything short of heavenly!!

The ultimate chocolate fix! I can't believe how wonderful they were. I'm sure this will be one of my favorites now...

I'd give these a 10 if I could...delicious, decadent, devine, dark-chocolate-bits-of-heaven!!! Anyone who likes chocolate should try these - you won't regret it (but your hips will!). The only change I made was using milky way instead of mounds because we aren't big mounds fans...I think they would be great with a large variety of candy bars I can think of (mars, 3 Muskateers, snickers, 100,000 bars, etc - so many combination possibilities). The oreos add a wonderful flavor (I used the Double Stuffed). Great post!!

Krum led me to these..thanks! Oh man do these look wonderful. Im going to bake them soon!! Michelle

I am with Krum..I would rate these a 10 if I could. They are so sweet and packed full of flavor. I did use the mounds and loved the coconut flavor it added. I am going to try the candy bars Krum suggested next time. Thanks again for the great recipe!!

Thanks! Sadly, I have yet to make these myself. I'm thinking of making them this coming weekend - with some Halloween candy!!

OMG! WoW! and Yum! Making these this weekend and thank you Michelle and Krumkake for directing me here! Yay. . .=D

I made these wonderful cookies last night and may I now say WoW!? They are really chaulk full of chocolatey flavor with hints of coconut and oreo cookie. Very Good! High Five for posting this recipe =D
