How to make it

  • Cook pasta according to directions until just tender
  • Combine cream, 5 ounces gorgonzola in medium saucepan
  • Stir constantly over LOW heat until cheese is almost melted, about 5 minutes
  • Drain pasta when done
  • Return pasta to pot, add cheese sauce
  • Stir over medium heat until sauce thickens slightly about 2 minutes
  • Add pepper to taste
  • Pour mixture into a shallow baking dish
  • Combine breadcrumbs and nuts and sprinkle topping over the pasta
  • Dot with remaining 1 ounce gorgonzola
  • Can brown under broiler until crunchy and brown
  • NOTE: I make *buttered* breadcrumbs from hearty, course bread, then mix with toasted walnuts and do not brown under broiler, your choice
