Cozy Comfort Pasta Sea Shells Gorgonzola Toasted Walnuts Bread Crumbs Recipe

Cozy Comfort Pasta Sea Shells Gorgonzola Toasted Walnuts Bread Crumbs Recipe
This is a cozy comfort classic with a twist. Came from the Liberty Cafe chefs. Got it years ago. Great with beef filet or can double as a main dish.

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces pasta sea shells
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 6 ounces gorgonzola, crumbled, 1 ounce reserved
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 slice bread, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped toasted walnuts
  • Paprika

Directions
  1. Cook pasta according to directions until just tender
  2. Combine cream, 5 ounces gorgonzola in medium saucepan
  3. Stir constantly over LOW heat until cheese is almost melted, about 5 minutes
  4. Drain pasta when done
  5. Return pasta to pot, add cheese sauce
  6. Stir over medium heat until sauce thickens slightly about 2 minutes
  7. Add pepper to taste
  8. Pour mixture into a shallow baking dish
  9. Combine breadcrumbs and nuts and sprinkle topping over the pasta
  10. Dot with remaining 1 ounce gorgonzola
  11. Can brown under broiler until crunchy and brown
  12. NOTE: I make *buttered* breadcrumbs from hearty, course bread, then mix with toasted walnuts and do not brown under broiler, your choice
