MUCH FLAVOR....LEFTOVER PEPPERS AND ONIONS FROM FATITAS WERE USED, BOILED, DRAINED THEN CHOPPED GR BEEF. PEOPLE AT WORK AND FAMILY LOVED IT

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 LBS LEAN GROUND BEEF
  • 2 PKGS PASTA, ( BOW TIE, IS WHAT I USED)
  • ONIONS, SLICED, ANY VARIETY
  • 5 PEPPERS, SLICED, ANY VARIETY, I USE RED, ORANGE YELLOW
  • 3 TABLESPOONS LIME PEPPER
  • OLIVE OIL
  • GARLIC POWDER
  • 2 1/4 CUPS KETCHUP
  • 3 TABLESPOONS LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
  • 4 TABLESPOONS WORCHESTER SAUCE
  • 2 CANS CREAM OF CELERY SOUP

Directions
  1. BOIL GROUND BEEF, DRAIN. BREAK INTO SMALL PIECES. ADD KETCHUP, BROWN SUGAR, WORCHESTER SAUCEAND SOUP. RETURN TO PAN, CONTINUE COOKING.
  2. SLICE ONIONS AND PEPPERS, PLACE IN HEATED OLIVE OIL. ADD GARLIC POWDER AND LIME PEPPER, COOK UNTIL SOFT.
  3. ADD ADD TO GROUND BEEF, CONTINUE COOKING. MAKE PASTA ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS ON PKG, DRAIN.
  4. SPRAY 2 LARGE 9X12" BAKING DISHES. PLACES PASTA IN DISHES. PUT MIXTURE OVER TOP. SPRINKLE WITH CHEESE. BAKE FOR 30 MINUTES
  5. IN A 350 OVEN.

I think i'll cut this in half to make for a family meal using 1 1/4 c ketchup, 2T lt brown sugar and 2 T worchester and 1 can soup for seasonings? what to serve with beside green salad? I love the peppers since my family is just starting to "get into them" they're appreciating the colors.also,what size noodle pkg?


I used bow tie pasta

What if you changed the beef to grnd turkey


I'M SURE THAT WOULD BE FINE. THE FLAVOR COMES FROM THE SPICES. WHEN I MAKE GROUND BEEF, I BOIL IT TO GET THE FAT OUT, EVEN IF I'M USING LEAN GROUND BEEF.


This looks fantastic but WOW that's a lot of ketchup!! Has anyone tried watering down the ketchup so it's not so intense or trying canned tomatoes? Ketchup is loaded with sodium and sugar is why I ask..... but it looks like a great recipe!
