Ingredients

1 lb of extra lean ground beef,

1 lb of hot Italian sausages, casing removed

1 large onion

1 each small green and red pepper

2 carrots

3 celery sticks

1/2 lb mushrooms

3 x 725 ml tins of tomato sauce

1 x 156 ml tomato paste

1 x 398ml stewed tomatoes

1/4 cup of red wine

dash of Tabassco

1 tsp rosemary, crushed

3 tbsp of minced garlic

1 1/2 tbsp of basil

1 tsp seasoning salt

1 tsp cayenne

1 tsp black pepper

3 Tbsp honey

Directions

Brown the hamburger and Italian sausage. Remember to remove sausage from casing and break up the beef.

Dice the onion, green and red pepper, carrots, celery & mushrooms and saute.

Add the meat to the veggies.

In a large Dutch Oven add the tomato sauce, tomato paste and stewed tomatoes, mixing well.

Simmer on low. Add garlic, Tabassco, basil, rosemary salt, pepper and honey.

Add the meat and veggies and simmer at least 2 hours.

Serve over your choice of pasta with a green salad and/or garlic bread.

Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

I made this and it was really good..BUT...I forgot the wine..i am sure it would've been even better with it..NOW I have half gal of great sauce...We probably only ate a cup or so at dinner (just 3 of us)..What do u do with your leftovers...Planning some lasagne??
