Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375*
  • Stir shortening to soften.
  • Gradually add sugar and cream throughly
  • Add vanilla and eggs (1 at a time) beating well after each
  • Sift flour and baking powder and salt
  • Add to creamed mixture alternate with milk, beat after each addition
  • Bake in 2 paper-lined 9X 1 1/2 inch round pans in 375* oven for about 23 minutes.

    Sounds like this cake has some fond memories for you, OM! Some of those older cake recipes from BH&G were excellent - this one sounds like a keeper!
