How to make it

  • Cook rice as per package directions
  • Meanwhile heat vinegar and sugar in microwave for 20ish seconds to dissolve the sugar
  • One rice is fully cooked pour sugared vinegar over the rice, cover and let stand until it's absorbed (or at least mostly absorbed)
  • crumble nori (or cut into small strips with kitchen scissors) over top of rice
  • add in crab, avocado and cucumber
  • combine and heat over low heat for 1-2 minutes
  • serve with soy and wasabi on the side to mix in if desired

    I made a similar salad about a year ago and used prawns instead of the crab meat as they are plentiful and not to expensive. It was brilliant. With lovely clean flavours like this you can't miss in the good tasting food stakes. (yes I do spell my words differently, I live in Australia.)
