How to make it

  • Custard:
  • Mix flour and sugar in saucepan.
  • Gradually add scalded milk.
  • Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
  • Cook 2 minutes.
  • Add small amount of mixture to slightly beaten egg yolks and mix in. Stir into hot mixture.
  • Cook 1 minute stirring constantly, (Cook only until reaches pudding consistency).
  • Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and butter.
  • (layer with bananas and vanilla wafers for banana pudding: wafers, bananas, pudding, repeat.)
  • For Peach Delight:
  • Layer in large serving dish: (mom turns the glass cake plate lid upside down and makes a pretty presentation).
  • Torn pieces angel food cake, peaches, custard, cool whip, repeat (2 layers each).
  • Garnish with more peach slices on top layer of cool whip, arranged in sunburst pattern, and chill
