This salad has passed to Cypriot cuisine from the Lebanese. It’s easy to throw together. Great as a side dish for grilled meats. Add meat for a light lunch. This salad is a typical summer salad and very "refreshing" thanks to the peppermint. Serv... More

I like the idea of not pre-soaing the bulgur wheat, but rather letting it soak up all the flavors of the salad! Great idea, Ivy; thank you!

This is a good recipe. You might want to add the spelling "tabbouleh" to the tag to get more viewings. I like the idea of adding meat to it! Never thought of that. Thanks!

Thanks for giving me the right spelling for tabbouleh. Have added it as well.

Absolutely LOVE this salad! Have never tried to make it from scratch, though. Maybe when tomatos are in season, and I don't have to buy the mealy ones from the supermarket!

I know what you mean, but here in Greece we are having tomatoes all year round so I make this salad often and it's one of my favourites as well.

This is an excellent recipe! I learned how to make tabbouleh from a Lebanese friend back in high school and have been making it weekly ever since. I love it! My kids too! My friend always told me he could not find the right kind of "pepper", here in America, to use in tabbouleh. I will never forget how excited he was when he discovered the missing "pepper" is allspice. So we always use allspice now instead of pepper.
