Ingredients
  • 1-2/3 Cups Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 4 Cups Chopped Unpeeled Apples
  • 1 Cup Chopped Walnuts
  • Frosting: 2 packages (3 ounce each) Cream Cheese (Softened)
  • 3 Tablespoons Softened Butter
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar

Directions
  1. In a Mixing Bowl, Beat Sugar & Eggs. Add Oil & Vanilla; Mix Well. Combine Flour, Baking Soda, Cinnamon, Salt, & Nutmeg; Gradually Add to Sugar Mixture, Mixing Well. Stir in Apples & Walnuts. Pour into a Greased & Floured 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan. Bake at 350 Degrees for 50 to 55 Minutes or until Cake tests done with toothpick. Cool on Wire Rack
  2. For Frosting, Beat Cream Cheese, Butter, & Vanilla in Bowl, gradually add Powdered Sugar until the Frosting has reached desired spreading consistency. Frost Cake when Completely Cooled

Hi there Tannzzi...was just wondering if it tasted fine sans frosting? Would you know. The recipe does sound great.


With or without Frosting I thought it was Great, I have made it both ways. I frosted it for company since alot of friends adore Cream Cheese Frosting, but without was a nice change with a cup of coffee or tea. Hope you Enjoy it
