Pat In The Pan PIE CRUST Recipe
Before my days of making great pie shells. Or in a pinch I would throw this together. Works well.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups plus 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons cold milk

Directions
  1. You can"t roll this dough.
  2. Mix right into 1 (8" or 9") pie plate.
  3. Mix the following in order
  4. flour
  5. sugar
  6. salt
  7. Mix together and add to rest:
  8. oil and milk
  9. Mix right into the pie plate.
  10. Pat first up the sides and then the bottom

What a fun crust to work with! Don't know how it's going to turn out yet but it was fun manipulating the crust around in the pan.

I have been looking for this recipe forEVER! Seriously, I'm so glad you posted it, because it is just delicious with strawberry pie filling and that is the way I used to do it way back, but then misplaced the recipe, so I am super glad to have it again! Thanks thanks thanks!--Kn0x--


This worked out great! Very easy and tastes very good! Next time I'll add more flour so that I can try to roll it out to make a top crust also!
