How to make it

  • Mix crisco and flour with fork until it forms small pea like balls.
  • Add water 1 tbs at a time, keep mixing with fork.
  • Dough is ready when it is firm and ready to roll.
  • Use rolling pin and plenty of flour to roll out for your pie.

    My father made the best, lightest, flakiest pie crust in the world! He was the chief baker on his ship in the US Navy during WWII. I can still remember him baking mouth watering pastries at home when I was a young girl. He died before he could teach me his amazing pie crust recipe, but I remember that he insisted on ice water, yes, w/ cubes! That's what sold me to try your recipe. I baked a buttermilk pie this afternoon and used your pie crust recipe. My husband is still drooling! He absolutely loved it ~ that's your best judge. LOVE IT! This is the only one I'll ever use now that I've found it. It's the closest to my dad's that I've been able to find. Thanks for a blue ribbon post! deb

    I can always use another pie crust recipe{I always goof up somewhere LOL} thanks will print try and save with my many other ones I never get rid of these cause I might need them LOl. Might say Im an avid collector. Thanks buddy high5
