This homemade baking mix is used exactly like Bisquick.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups unbleached flour
  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup baking powder
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 1/3 cups powdered dry milk

Directions
  1. In large bowl, combine unbleached flour, salt and baking powder.
  2. Cut in shortening until it is like coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in powdered milk, then whole wheat flour.
  4. Store in airtight container.
  5. Keeps for about 2 months.
  6. To measure, fluff mix with spoon handle and scoop into measuring cup, do not pack down.
