My Crockpot Dressing Recipe
We used to have this at our office parties at work...Its a good slow way to make dressing when your in a hurry...

Ingredients
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 pan cornbread
  • 8 slices day old white bread
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sage (more or less, depending on your taste)
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Precook onion and celery in a small amout of chicken broth.
  2. Then mix together with all other ingredients.
  3. Butter the inside of crockpot.
  4. Put mixture into crockpot and put dabs of butter on top.
  5. Cook on high for 2 hours or cook on low for 3-4 hours.

Thanks for the great recipe Zena. It's almost the way I make mine. I use the cajun "trinity" & chicken broth. I'll try it this way.

Alterations


My mom always added corn flakes to her dressing along with the cornbread.... you can also do that here instead of the white bread.... I usually use between a cup and half to 2 cups of corn flakes... depending on your taste...
